FAQ
Welcome to Green Zebra Kitchen! Since 2007, we have been delivering healthy and delicious plant-based prepared meals that are gluten-free and dairy-free across the Toronto area. We do not use any animal products. We put together a basic FAQ organized in three categories to save you some time: Food, Ordering + Delivery. If you have a question that is not addressed below, feel free to call or email us.
Our Food
How do I reheat the meals?
See our Reheating Instructions .
How do I open the packaging and where does it go when I'm done?
See ‘Containers’ here.
How many meals do I get from your meal plans?
For our Small Plan, you should get at least three to four meals (lunch or dinner) for the week. For the Large Plan, you should get six to eight meals.
Some customers get more meals from the plans, but not less. For example, with a small Vegetable Lasagna and a small Kale Salad, you could get two small lunches out of this meal by eating half of each dish, as the lasagna can be quite filling.
We suggest trying our service for one week to see how the meal plan works for you.
How long does the food last?
We recommend eating the food by end of the day Saturday, but we find that most dishes last until Sunday. In addition, some meals can be frozen to extend the shelf-life. See a list of our Freezer-Friendly Meals for the week.
I have food allergies and/or aversions. Will you customize my meals?
We do allow customers to let us know about food allergies or dislikes and we log the information in your customer profile. Each week we customize your food to not include these items.
Do you provide nutritional information for your food?
We currently do not offer nutritional information for our meals.
I’m not vegetarian. Will I like your food?
Yes! Many of our customers are not vegan/vegetarian and love to use our food for their healthy meals for the week.
You can also see what our customers say about us, here.
Who are your customers?
We cook for a lot of families, busy parents, university students, athletes, naturopaths, performers and people who don’t have the time to meal plan and cook the way they want to for the week.
Can I visit your kitchen?
Please do! You may schedule a visit to our kitchen to meet our staff and to see the ingredients that we use for cooking. Just email us at info@greenzebrakitchen.com.
Ordering
Do you have a minimum order?
Yes. The minimum order is $50 before tax.
Can I order once or do I have to commit to a long plan?
We do not require any commitments. You’re welcome to use our service once a month, every other week, or during those times that you could use some prepared meals to ease a busy week.
What is the Subscribe option I see on select products?
If you enjoy our meals and continue to order on a weekly basis, we offer subscription options for our meal plans and select products. Once you’ve subscribed, you never have to worry about getting your order in on time and you will be billed automatically each week. In addition, you can always pause, cancel or edit your subscription(s).
In order to successfully subscribe, you must sign up for a meal plan or at least $50 worth of subscribable products. You can view our Subscription products here.
If you have any questions about our Subscription program feel free to email or call us.
When is the ordering deadline?
The deadline for ordering each week is 10pm on Sunday. We may be able accommodate later orders but cannot guarantee it. We suggest signing up for our mailing list (at bottom of website) so you receive the menu early in the week.
When is your new menu posted?
The new menu for the following week is posted on Monday.
Can I cancel my order?
You have until end of day Sunday to cancel your order without any charge. If you cancel on Monday, you will receive a 50% credit on your account. We cannot refund a Tuesday cancellation.
